About Amarillie Ackermann
The evening will feature a solo performance by the renowned harpist Amarillie Ackermann, whose musical journey began at the age of five. Amarillie holds a B. Mus degree, UTLM, and UPLM from UNISA, as well as LTCL and FTCL from Trinity College London. She is a versatile musician, having mastered not only the harp but also the piano, digital keyboard, and accordion, achieving Grade 8 with distinction for each from the London College of Music.
Amarillie's passion for music extends beyond solo performances; she is deeply interested in ensemble work and music transcription. Her most notable achievement is her 30-year involvement with Duo 2000 alongside her husband, Sergio Zampolli. Together, they created a unique musical experience with a combination of harp and symphonic accordion, transcribing 120 pieces and performing extensively. Amarillie has recorded two solo CDs and four CDs as part of Duo 2000. In addition to performing, she is dedicated to teaching various instruments and serves as an adjudicator for the National Eisteddfod Academy.
